George Kaiser Family Foundation
A Unifying Brand for a Citywide Network of Partners
A unifying brand and storytelling training for the partners in Tulsa's Birth through Eight Strategy, as its strategic communications partner.

The challenge
The George Kaiser Family Foundation's Birth through Eight Strategy for Tulsa (BEST) is a set of services for children and families across the city, delivered with a network of partners and grantees. The foundation wanted to improve strategic communications across that network.
What I did
- Developed an identity that unites the more than 100 BEST partners under one brand
- Trained the BEST team
- Coached BEST's community grantees on communications
- Designed and led a learning series to strengthen the storytelling skills of grantees, covering operations, talent management, and marketing
Results
- 100% of participants agreed that the workshops were relevant to their professional responsibilities and learning goals, and that they equipped them with insights to bring back to their teams.
Why it matters for place-based work
- A single brand for a network of more than 100 partners in one city.
- Training and coaching so partners can tell their own stories.
- A partnership that has run for years, not a single project.
