I Paid This Company $129 and They Saved Me $20k+

“I’m so happy I could cry tears of joy,” I said as I hopped off the Zoom and into my husband Alex’s arms.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a tears-of-joy (or tears-of-sadness) kind of person. It takes a lot to make me cry. But the amazing people I’ve met through Conceive have turned me into an emotional mess — in the best way.

Take Christina, who facilitates our Crew and checks in with each of us every week. If I’ve had a bad day (or a good one!) I know she’ll be there to listen, and I know she actually gets it because she’s been in my shoes. (Sorry, Alex, but sometimes you just can’t be helpful.)

Then there’s Danielle, who organized our Conceive Crew, a support group of 10 women going through infertility. From the big stuff, like sharing usable resources and tools, to the little things, like coordinating schedules and getting all calendar invites out in advance, Danielle has made life easier — not something I can say for most other people who are responsible for helping me on this journey.

And today I got to meet Gina, who joined the Conceive team to help people with what I consider the second-worst part of this whole experience (after the traumatic loss part): the financial/paperwork/insurance-related part.

Gina, whose actual title I forgot to ask, is my Insurance Angel. In just 45 minutes, she walked me through what I have been dreading and putting off for over a year. And in that time, she gave me assurance that the arduous paperwork will be worth it — to the tune of over $20,000 (the amount I’ve spent this year out of network).

So if you’re on this journey and looking for the best $129 you could ever spend (the monthly fee to join), I cannot recommend Conceive more. If you have questions, I’m happy to share more about my experience.

I have lots to say about the other “resources” I’ve used over the last 3 years — like how a Facebook group taught me more about my diagnoses than my doctor did — and none of them compares to Conceive. More to come on what I have found valuable, and what I’d recommend skipping, for those navigating this uncertain (and expensive) world of infertility.

P.S. This isn’t sponsored or anything — just sharing what I’ve learned and loved!
